   I'm not sure about having a UI or not, but we definitely need term meta.

   This looks like it might happen and there's a ton of support for it.

   And, I would suggest getting behind that ticket if you want to see this happen.

   I made a plugin that allows you to add custom taxonomies as well as custom fields for those taxonomies.May be you can check that out till WordPress gets a permanent solution to it.:)
